One Rule Games, a new mobile studio based in Montpellier, France, announced today it has successfully closed its seed funding round for an undisclosed sum. Griffin Gaming Partners led the round, with which the studio plans to build hybrid-casual titles. It plans to launch at least one of those titles in 2026.
The studio was founded by four industry veterans, including CEO and co-founder Alexander Willink, with the intention of building a “standout 0-1 team” that builds games from concept to launch. The founders previously worked on titles like Paper.io, All in Hole and Crowd City.
Willink said in a statement, “A huge thank you to our lead investor, Griffin Gaming Partners, and all the incredible backers who believe in our vision. With this capital, we’re accelerating our mission to create games that blend casual fun with deeper engagement for endless replayability.” He also thanked the studio’s angel investors.
Pierre Planche, partner at Griffin Gaming Partners, said, “We’re excited to invest in One Rule Games, a leading 0–1 team in mobile gaming. The team has a rare ability to start from first principles and build with clarity, speed, and strong creative conviction. Their work also reflects the continued strength of the exceptional creative and technical talent emerging from France, and we believe they’re laying the foundation for a breakout mobile studio.”
