Nintendo pushed out an update for its 3D portable today that improves stability and adds a few small features.
System version 5.0.0-11U is available now to download. With this patch, players no longer must exit the eShop digital-download store to make sure that the “Download Later” feature works. Additionally, the 3DS can now download software updates in the background.

The 3DS’s “Download Later” grabs software online after closing the system. Before this update, the handheld wouldn’t initiate the download until you exited the eShop.
