Nex Playground, the active play system that gets families moving together, has today announced a new partnership with the NSPCC.
The partnership combines Nex Playground’s active, social approach to family gaming with the NSPCC’s expertise in keeping children safe to help parents and carers manage family screen time with greater confidence.
The partnership launches with 10 Tips for Meaningful Family Screen Time, developed by the two organisations and available now. Rather than focusing only on how long children spend on screens, the tips encourage families to think about how they spend that time. They cover playing together, choosing games that get everyone moving, agreeing household rules as a family and leading by example.
The tips reflect what the NSPCC hears every day. Childline often hears from children looking for advice on gaming and screen time, from staying safe online to the benefits of playing with others.
“We’re delighted to announce our new partnership with Nex Playground, an active play console that encourages families to spend time together. In today’s world, screens are built into many aspects of children’s lives, and for parents, that can be difficult to manage,” said Chris Sherwood, CEO at the NSPCC.
“At the NSPCC, we’re always looking at ways to help families make screen time better, and this partnership with Nex Playground is a natural extension of that work. As a charity, we are focused on helping parents navigate family screen time with greater confidence, supporting them to make choices that enable their children to learn, develop, and thrive in a digital world.
“This partnership will support these aims and also provide us with important financial support which will help us to carry out our vital work to keep children safe, both online and offline.”
To celebrate the partnership, Nex Playground and the NSPCC will visit five shopping centres across England between 6 November and 13 December, 2026, joined by content creators and celebrities to showcase active play. The events will give families the chance to experience Nex Playground firsthand, get moving and play together, while shining a spotlight on the NSPCC and its work supporting children and families.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the NSPCC to help families build positive screen habits together. This is just the start. From 6 November, we’re heading across England with the NSPCC to show families what active, shared play looks like, and to raise awareness of the vital work the charity does to keep children safe,” said Tom Kang, president and head of International at Nex.
The launch marks the start of a longer-term partnership, with further family-focused content and activity planned for 2027. The full 10 Tips for Meaningful Family Screen Time are available at https://nex.fun/nspcc-tips
