News Blips:

Uncharted 3: Drake's DeceptionEntertainment Weekly unveils the first details of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. In Naughty Dog's third entry to the hugely popular action-adventure series, titular treasure hunter Nathan Drake heads to the parched deserts of the Arabian Peninsula in search of a lost city known as "Iram of the Pillars." Creative Director Amy Hennig said the game's main theme revolves around deception (as evidenced by the title) and Drake's mother and father while drawing heavy inspiration from famed British explorer T.E. Lawrence. EW's article also spoke of gameplay enhancements such as "backwards climbing" and "the ability to fight multiple baddies at once" but didn't go into further details. No specific release date was given, but the game has a planned launch in 2011 to coincide with the fall release of Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth, the first Nathan Drake novel. Oh, and the game will have 3D support. Thanks, Sony, you may have just suckered me into buying a new TV.

A hip-hop singer sues Rockstar for allegedly using his likeness in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Cypress Hill backup singer Michael "Shagg" Washington filed a lawsuit Monday in the Los Angeles Superior Court claiming the developers used him as inspiration for protagonist Carl "CJ" Johnson without consent. IGN's report states that Washington met with Rockstar in 2003 to discuss street life during the game's development. "The plaintiff, who had led a troubled life in his youth, responded to their questions and related details of his life," the complaint declared. "The plaintiff told them about details of his street life including how the teenagers in his gang rode around on bicycles. After almost two hours of questioning which covered many topics of gang and street life, the meeting ended and the plaintiff was allowed to leave." Rockstar apparently told Washington that he'd be contacted if he'd be used in the game, but he never heard back. The punch line? Washington is only suing now — six years after the game's release — because he apparently saw the game for the first time in July.

Street Fighter 4's Crimson Viper and X-Men's Storm join the roster of Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. GameSpot's gameplay video of the two femme fatales exhibits an exciting array of moves and combos worthy of the fast-paced fighter. The total number of announced fighters is now up to 32, including launch-day downloadable characters Jill Valentine and Shuma-Gorath. Great, now the theme song of that X-Men TV show from the 1990s is stuck in my head.
