It’s about time the PS3 trimmed down. Now if only the 360 would follow suit. Not that we care too much about its proportions — we totally love and support the shapes and sizes of all our consoles. But seriously: Lose weight 360 or we’re kicking your fat ass out.

• PS3 finally went on diet; lookin’ good. Well, it finally happened: Sony announced both a new version of the PlayStation 3 and a price cut today. The slim and trim PS3 will set you back $299 and will be released the first week of September. We’re celebrating by getting our old-ass PS3’s a much-needed gym membership. [Kotaku]

• Yum: PSP Minis taste like short-lived fun. Sony announced a series of small games for the PSP entitled PSP Minis. These little bite-sized games will be hitting the PlayStation Network on October 1st and will launch with 15 flavors games. [GameSpot]
