News Blips: PS3 Slim is Real, Water in LittleBigPlanet, PSP Minis and More

It’s about time the PS3 trimmed down. Now if only the 360 would follow suit. Not that we care too much about its proportions — we totally love and support the shapes and sizes of all our consoles. But seriously: Lose weight 360 or we’re kicking your fat ass out.

PS3 finally went on diet; lookin’ good. Well, it finally happened: Sony announced both a new version of the PlayStation 3 and a price cut today. The slim and trim PS3 will set you back $299 and will be released the first week of September. We’re celebrating by getting our old-ass PS3’s a much-needed gym membership. [Kotaku]

Super Stardust HD guys really stretching their brains for new game. Because it’s a zombie game entitled Dead Nation. And zombies eat brains. And living humans eat up games about non-living humans who eat brains. [Joystiq]

Yum: PSP Minis taste like short-lived fun. Sony announced a series of small games for the PSP entitled PSP Minis. These little bite-sized games will be hitting the PlayStation Network on October 1st and will launch with 15 flavors games. [GameSpot]
