Based on the hype so far, Nintendo's next venture into 3D gaming will fare better than the Virtual Boy. Right?

Activision Chief Operating Officer Thomas Tippl heaps praise upon the Nintendo 3DS. Speaking with GameSpot, Tippl underscored the innovative qualities of the handheld that was glamorously unveiled at E3. "I was particularly impressed by the 3DS, and it got a great reception," he said. "It's a brilliant product. Nintendo's figured out the glasses — or the lack thereof — are key." I agree with Tippl — Nintendo would be asking too much of us if we walked around wearing goofy glasses that weren't part of a fashion statement.
Nintendo is "not satisfied" with its online efforts so far. During an E3 meeting with investors, President Satoru Iwata said Nintendo is working to refine the online utilities of the Wii and other products, but he also said that "on the other hand, I do not think that online functionality is something that we should be devoting resources to for every single product." The investors' heads promptly exploded after receiving this logic bomb.
Microsoft will roll out the $99.99 Xbox Live Family Pack this November. A quick rundown of some of the features in the deal include four individual Gold memberships, a new Family Center menu (a centralized location for account management and parental controls) in the Dashboard , the ability for the primary account holder to dispense Microsoft Points to other Family Pack members, and exclusive family content and discounts. Now, if I could only find an entire family that enjoys gaming….
The Jack Attack is back — the trivia-game classic You Don't Know Jack is set to return via THQ and Jellyvision. The free-to-play online quiz show is heading again to traditional media through a partnership of the two companies. This was initially teased in a Giant Bomb podcast followed by a terse blog entry on series creator Jellyvision's website. More info should be available soon, but for now, I'm looking forward to hearing the wisecracking voice of You Don't Know Jack host Cookie Masterson fill my ears once more.
