The Morocco Gaming Expo 2026 has opened its doors for five days. Bringing together 24 countries, 100 exhibitors, and a new generation of Moroccan studios ready to engage with international publishers, it is the largest video game gathering ever held on the African continent.
The third edition of the Morocco Gaming Expo (MGE) opened at the Sofitel Jardin des Roses in Rabat, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Organised by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and held under the theme “Moroccan Talent,” the event runs until 24 May 2026 and brings together investors from 24 countries, 100 exhibitors, 86 speakers and 27 developers showcasing 32 games.
Since its launch, MGE has grown steadily. In 2024, it welcomed 41,845 visitors from 17 countries and in 2025, that figure rose to 72,623 visitors from 18 countries.
The 2026 edition builds on that momentum with five days of programming, five thematic forums, an expanded development showcase featuring 32 games and an international guest of honour joining Moroccan creators, graduates and entrepreneurs at the centre of the programme.
MGE 2026 is organised around four complementary spaces designed to bring creators, investors, policymakers and the public together around the future of gaming. 70 conferences, 86 speakers and 35 hours of content, offering a platform for Moroccan talent, international experts, educators and entrepreneurs.
32 games, 27 developers and 37.5 hours of open play, creating a showcase where creators can connect directly with players, media and potential partners. 6 hands-on sessions led by 11 expert trainers, designed for students, developers and emerging studios. This also includes five thematic forums: Government, Business, Game Safe, Game Engine and Game Dev, bringing together policymakers, investors, technologists and developers.

Among the titles on display are the first commercial release from KasbahLab, the latest title from Ivalys Studio, which has been selected for an international development programme and is pitching to global publishers, and Uncursed by AJB Studio, released in 2025 as the first PC game fully developed in Morocco.
“Morocco has made a clear choice to support local talent and build a gaming industry with long-term potential. MGE is one of the places where that effort becomes visible.” Said H.E. Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication for the Kingdom of Morocco, in a press release.
MGE 2026 places a spotlight on the generation of Moroccan leaders driving the industry at home and abroad, whether through their own studios or within major international publishers. Several Moroccan creators will also be recognised, including the laureate of the Inwi Challenge, a gamification design competition for major Moroccan companies.
The winner will receive a cash prize and a featured slot at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, the world’s largest gaming trade show, creating a direct path from a Moroccan competition stage to a global platform.
“What we are seeing this week is a market beginning to take shape. Moroccan studios are pitching to global publishers, graduates are presenting commercial prototypes, and the bridge from training to market is becoming stronger.” Said Nissrine Souissi, director of gaming for the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication in Morocco, in the same press release.
MGE 2026 opens against a backdrop of rapid sectoral growth. Since 2021, Morocco’s gaming industry has benefited from sustained state commitment at the highest level, with the stated objective of capturing 1% of global gaming revenues by 2030. The sector has also attracted growing international interest, with delegations from KRAFTON, Epic Games and Merak Capital also among the international participants.
Finally, Morocco has signed three landmark partnerships with Proxy Planet, Garena and TA Publishing over the past 12 months.
