Capcom revealed during Sony’s Tokyo Game Show event today that Monster Hunter: World is coming out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One worldwide on January 26. A PC version will follow later.

The Monster Hunter series has been a huge success in Japan, but it’s had a more limited appeal in Western markets. The series has sold over 40 million games. World will attempt to bring in more fans to the action role-playing franchise with its larger open-worlds. For the past few entries, the franchise had mostly found its home on the 3DS. Aside from some Wii U releases, this is Monster Hunter’s big return to modern home consoles.

We enjoyed the game when we tried it in August, and its new features and visual boost impressed us.

Monster Hunter: World is also getting a collector’s edition that will come with a soundtrack, art book, and a figure of the Nergigante monster. It also includes all of the content from the Digital Deluxe version of the game.
