Scopely and Hasbro are collaborating on another board game-related project. However, this time, they’re doing a reverse Monopoly Go. The mobile game is based on the classic Hasbro board game, remade with a single player in mind. Now Monopoly Go is becoming its own multiplayer board game. The game is currently available to purchase.
Monopoly Go: The Board Game is built with 2-4 players in mind, with the winner being the first to build a landmark with four matching blocks. Players can sabotage each other’s progress with bank heists and shut downs, features from the mobile game.
Eric Wood, Scopely’s SVP of publishing, said in a statement, “Creating a ‘MONOPOLY GO!’ board game experience has been an incredible, meta journey. Since Scopely’s early development conversations with Hasbro, we were united by one goal: to bring the same thrill and strategic gameplay that our mobile game fans love to a tabletop format. Scopely notes that Monopoly Go has had one of the most successful mobile game launches, with players passing Go over 100 billion times and building more than 150 billion landmarks.
