Minecraft will get bosses for iOS, Android, Samsung Gear VR, and Windows 10

Minecraft is getting ready to add a few surprises for explorers of its mobile, Windows 10, and Gear VR versions.

Microsoft announced today that a new update will add two bosses to those releases of its hit block-building survival game. Minecraft is a phenomenon, having sold over 106 million copies across all of its (many) platforms. Microsoft bought the game and its developer Mojang in 2014 for $2.5 billion. The Boss Update enters a public beta test on Android today. It’ll release for free on Windows 10, mobile, and gear VR sometime this fall. Updates like this keep Minecraft relevant and bring its many ports closer to the feature set of the original.
