Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has shot to the No. 1 retail sales spot on its U.K. debut.

Konami’s open-world stealth game did enough to outsell another of the week’s big releases, the movie tie-in Mad Max. But it failed to outperform the week-one sales of two of this year’s other major titles, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt and Batman: Arkham Knight, reports MCV.

Metal Gear Solid V did break the record for week-one sales in the long-running series, though. It sold 37 percent better than the 2001 entry, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.

The PlayStation 4 version dominated retail sales of Metal Gear Solid V, accounting for 72 percent of all sales. Xbox One accounted for another 22 percent, with just 5 percent of sales on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 combined. My math skills tell me that leaves 3 percent of retail sales for the PC edition — which is apparently a near-empty disc in a nice box (containing just one file to trigger a download from Steam).

Here’s how the full U.K. all-formats chart for the week ending September 5 looks.

1. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (Konami)

6. Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar)

7. LEGO Jurassic World (Warner Bros.)
