Nexon America has launched the new Maple University event to mark MapleStory’s 21st anniversary. This celebration invites players to step onto a vibrant new campus to master unique skills, earn academic credits, and unlock a huge variety of special rewards, all of which are live right now.
MapleStory is a 2D side-scrolling online MMORPG known for its distinctive gameplay and unique art style. In 2005, the Global version of MapleStory launched and has continued to grow and evolve alongside its passionate community of fans.
The anniversary celebration introduces various “extracurricular” activities and specialized progression mechanics, which focus on campus life all the way up to graduation.
Players can attend Basic and Special Lectures to earn Credits and Campus Points for exclusive rewards. Advancing through the semester unlocks powerful buffs and the “Rowdy Campus Life” skill for massive EXP gains.

MapleStory players can also take part in something called The Monster Election, where they’re encouraged to join a team and show their school spirit. Progression occurs when players collect Lightsticks through mini-games or by defeating monsters to vote for their favourite candidate and unlock unique growth perk.
A new enhanced hunting mode known as Hasty Hunting MAX provides massive hunting buffs and mission rewards for players who take part. Meanwhile, players can collect “Memories” from defeated monsters, and then customize their ID to unlock more rewards.
Finally, six new mini-games have been made available at the Club Fair as well as the Mysterious Discoveries quests. These let players assist with campus research by exploring the Dimensional Tower or aiding Mano in Academic Capture to secure the Honor Student’s Scholarship Kit, special exploration buffs, and other rewards.
These anniversary festivities won’t last forever, so players can log in to claim their Summer Countdown rewards and make the most of the 21st anniversary celebration while it’s running.
