Lore Machine has launched Adventure_Mode, a new social storytelling platform where anyone can create, personalize, remix, and share evolving stories powered by AI.

The platform lets creators instantly generate, share, and fork visual stories that branch into infinite, unique narratives, making collaborative storytelling as effortless as scrolling through social media.

The company said Adventure_Mode reflects a broader shift in how audiences interact with media. Instead of passively consuming algorithmic feeds, users can now create visual stories that respond to their imagination in real time.

Blurring the lines between social platform, game, and interactive storytelling, its intuitive, choose-your-own-adventure format requires no tutorials or technical skills, turning every scroll into a creative act.

Fueled by a thriving community of creators who’ve produced millions of remixable Lores, Adventure_Mode expands the Lore Machine universe into fully playable, interactive experiences.

Unlike isolated content tools, every story becomes living source material for others, fueling exponential creativity where one LORE can spark infinite variations. Users can upload their own photos, voices, and friends, personalizing stories that unfold across images, video, and audio. Powered by cutting-edge large language models, Adventure_Mode brings storytelling to life in a way that’s as personal as it is social.

“Generative content is largely pollution without story. As with cinema a century ago, we’re standing at the dawn of a new medium, one where imagination, not automation, defines culture,” said Thobey Campion, CEO of Lore Machine and former head of publishing at Vice Media, where he founded Motherboard, in a statement. “Generative AI’s real power isn’t in churning out disintermediated images or text, but in coherent narrative. In a world where generative content is created instantly and freely, the only lasting value lies in the story. That’s the art form we’re building toward.”

In a video, Campion said his six-year-old nephew made a story about a Mushroom Boy. He crafted the cute story, complete with characters and a story set in a forest. Campion showed another story where a user indicated that the story was available for remixing. So there’s a “thumbprint” that is the core of the story. Then others can build upon that foundation and make the story their own.

The platform combines the instant gratification of gaming with the emotional depth of narrative. Users can create professional-quality visual stories in seconds, then watch as their story worlds expand through social remixing and personalized reinterpretation.

To demonstrate the platform’s collaborative potential, Lore Machine is partnering with Archive In Between, a thriving online storytelling community, to launch the #PlayMyLore initiative. The partnership invites creators to remix LOREs using Adventure_Mode’s one-tap remix feature, showcasing how established communities can engage their audiences through participatory storytelling.

“Just because you didn’t use a pencil or a pen doesn’t mean it’s not a reflection of your imagination,” said Campion. “When a creator makes a story and thousands of fans create their own versions, they’re not just sharing content. They’re co-authoring a living universe.”

Lore Machine’s technology uses multiple AI models working in concert to generate images, video, audio, and text, all structured by an adaptive narrative engine that maintains narrative coherence and character consistency across infinite variations. The platform’s proprietary format ensures that original creators receive attribution while enabling unlimited remixing.

Supported by strategic investors including Cox Exponential and angel investors Kevin Mayer, former CEO of TikTok, and Michael V. Lewis, Co-founder and former Chairman/CEO of RealD, Lore Machine brings together leading talent from the frontiers of AI and creative technology. Guiding its technical and product direction is Samim Winiger, former Google AI and Hugging Face researcher, who leads the development of Adventure_Mode, a platform designed to dissolve the boundary between creator and audience.

Adventure_Mode is now available for iOS and Android.
