Kabam confirmed that it laid off a small number of employees who worked on older platforms as the company steers into mobile games.
Spokesperson Steve Swasey confirmed that the San Francisco social game publisher laid off a small number of employees that could not be transitioned from the company’s older web and Facebook platforms to its new emphasis on “triple-A-quality mobile games.” Swasey wouldn’t say how many people were laid off, but he did say that the company has more than 700 employees and has 80 openings as it expands into mobile games such as its hit The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth.
