Jagex: The RuneScape Company, the iconic British games studio and creator of the legendary RuneScape franchise, today announced two major publishing partnerships that will bring RuneScape: Dragonwilds to Japan, South Korea and South East Asia.

This represents the first time in Jagex’s 25-year history that a Jagex-developed game has been published in partnership with third-party regional publishers and is another milestone in the company’s transformational RS25 anniversary year.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds will be published in Japan by Graph, a branch of Active Gaming Media, and across South Korea and South East Asia by H2 Interactive – signaling that the company is continuing to expand the RuneScape universe onto a global stage following on the success of RuneScape: Dragonwilds, which has surpassed one million sales during Steam Early Access.

These deals also form part of Jagex’s broader RS25 strategy – using the significant anniversary as a springboard for future growth, global expansion, franchise evolution and record investment into the future of RuneScape.

“As we looked to expand RuneScape: Dragonwilds internationally, it was essential that we found partners with strong regional expertise and a deep understanding of local players and gaming culture,” said Anna Mostyn Williams, senior director of business development and partnerships, in a press release.

“Active Gaming Media and H2 Interactive immediately stood out because of their experience, passion and market knowledge, and these partnerships will help us deliver a high-quality localised experience for entirely new RuneScape audiences.”

As part of the partnerships, RuneScape: Dragonwilds will launch for players across Japan, Korea and South East Asia with full localisation support, helping introduce these audiences to the RuneScape franchise.

“What immediately stood out to us about RuneScape: Dragonwilds was its sense of adventure, discovery and craftsmanship. The game combines rich world-building and cooperative survival gameplay with a style of fantasy that is universally loved, making it an excellent fit for the Japanese market, said Ibai Vinas Ameztoy, CEO at Active Gaming Media, in the same press release.

“We’re delighted to partner with Jagex to introduce Japanese players to a new, localised chapter of the RuneScape universe for the very first time.”

The partnerships reflect a strong strategic and creative alignment between Jagex and both regional publishers, built around a shared belief in the long-term global potential of the RuneScape franchise and the unique appeal of RuneScape: Dragonwilds for players across APAC.

“RuneScape: Dragonwilds brings together many of the elements players across Korea and South East Asia are passionate about – deep progression systems, cooperative gameplay and highly replayable survival experiences,” said Dong-Hee Lee, business development manager at H2 Interactive, in the press release.

“Combined with the legacy of the RuneScape franchise and Jagex’s strong community-focused approach to development, we believe the game is uniquely positioned to build a passionate audience across the region.”
