Insights.gg, a gameplay capture and review platform, will launch its new standalone platform and integrated app in January 2026.
Born from esports and built for every game, Insights.gg will launch its public beta starting today, December 15, and run it through January 15, 2026.
In advance of the full release, Insights will open a public Beta running December 15, 2025 through January 15, 2026, giving players early access to the next generation of performance-focused recording and replay tools.
Responding to market demand for deeper tools that go beyond clip-based consumer apps, the January launch will mark the company’s biggest product leap since launching publicly in 2021. Scaling to meet the needs of today’s players, Insights is transforming gameplay recording from simple clip capture into a fully interactive, game-specific experience that helps players relive, analyze, and share their most meaningful moments.
“Our mission is to build the world’s best game capture platform to make it super easy to record, rewatch and share your game footage,” said Kevin Ho, CEO of Insights.gg, in an interview with GamesBeats. “It’s an app that’s simultaneously fun for the casual gamer but also performs at the highest level for the world’s best and most competitive players as well. And we’re launching version three, a new build. We’ve rebuilt it from scratch, making the platform lighter, faster and overall better.”
The app works with 45 of the top games now, including League of Legends and Valorant. Insights.gg provides high-level stats for players and it breaks a 20-minute game into the most important components that you can rewatch.
Ho said that players capture eight million minutes of game footage on the Insights platform every day, and the user base watches five million minutes of that game footage.
“Gamers find a lot of enjoyment in watching streamed content, but what we’re seeing from our user base is they actually really enjoy watching their own stuff as well,” Ho said.
Why it matters

Players don’t just want to play—they want to relive their sessions. Insights.gg exists to make moments matter. As player behavior continues shifting toward rewatching, sharing, and learning from their own gameplay, Insights is emerging as the performance layer of the PC gaming experience, capturing 8 million minutes of gameplay per day, generating 5 million minutes of daily watch time, and supporting more than 140,000 daily active users worldwide.
Built for performance, Insights.gg offers full-session recording, smart moment detection, and the industry’s most advanced review tools. With the new platform launch, Insights is redefining how gameplay memory works—turning raw sessions into rich, interactive, game-specific timelines for games that range from competitive first person shooters and MOBAs, to single player action adventure, strategy, and sim games, and everything in between.
Insights.gg captures the kills and deaths in a competitive multiplayer shooter game. And it makes it easy to rewatch those moments.
“While there are other tools on the market that just focus on shorter format clips where it’s like maybe like 30 seconds to a minute, we focus on capturing that entire gaming match or gaming session and highlighting, you know, all the critical components to it.”
With the version 3.0 launch, Insights.gg has a new way of visualizing those important moments so you can quickly find them.
“When you create the best review experience for gamers, the capture just becomes exponentially better,” Ho said.
It’s also easy to create content that you can share with your friends. You can create a mini montage of your match.
“We have this quick tool where you can press it and we would, within seconds, create a mini montage that you can share,” Ho said.
Ho said the team has been watching AI technology closely in the last couple of years, but Insights.gg is not yet ready to disclose those features just yet. Those will come in the future.
Origins
The company started in 2019, when Ho and his cofounders were focused on esports players.
Ho and brothers Won Kim and Young Kim (chairman) started the company in 2019. Young Kim was a key figure in Korea’s esports scene and former executive at six-time League of Legends world champion T1.
The founders would sit in the team houses and spend time watching how the teams operated and how they tried to get players to improve their performance.
“They practiced, they rewatched their stuff, and they just rested,” Ho said. “That was kind of our aha moment. Game footage review is just super important to gamers in general. And so we began building Insights Capture.”
They launched it in 2021 and it spread to a lot of esports teams and top streamers.
“As word got out, we were just blown away by the demand of gamers all around from pro to casual. And now we have gamers all around the world capturing games for thousands of different titles, ranging from online multiplayer to single player, from competitive games to casual games as well,” Ho said.
Over time, Insights.gg focused on long-format content. When you jump into a game, it will record from the start of the game to the end of the game. And then it highlights the important moments of the game.
In the past, the company built one of the key components on top of the Overwolf platform. But with the new version, Insights.gg built the app from the ground up as a standalone app. Now it no longer requires you to run the Overwolf app in order to work.
“It’s just its own standalone app now, which has resulted in some cases in drastically faster experiences,” Ho said.
For instance, now the app has a timeline where you can easily see the points in the match where there are kills or deaths. And you can click on those parts to go immediately to those segments of the video.

Why now
Insights sits at the intersection of performance and social connection—two forces reshaping modern gaming culture. With organic global growth (200–300% year-over-year in Japan alone) and gameplay captured across more than 2,500 game titles.
The company has grown into one of the world’s fastest-scaling gameplay capture platforms, used by everyday gamers and elite competitors alike. The company didn’t raise any funding. And it has 14 people.
There are other insights and analytics platforms out there. Some focus on providing real-time advice for players on a moment by moment basis in real-time as a game is being played. Others provide data for people who want to make bets on esports games. But Insights.gg isn’t focused on either of those purposes.
“We’re made by gamers for the gamers,” he said. “These other avenues are not interesting for us. We just want to create a great tool that the average casual gamer can enjoy.”
