Human Computer, the indie studio backed by Makers Fund, today revealed the first details about its debut title, Ballgame. The game is a physics platformer starring a sentient golf ball that takes inspiration from multiple real-life sports. The game is set to launch on Steam sometime in 2026.
Ballgame’s star, Dolf, must get from their starting point to the hole at the end of the level in as few shots as possible. Unlike in a traditional golf game, they must traverse platforming puzzles, spikes, grinding rales, bubbles and various other obstacles in their way. According to the developer, it takes inspiration from not only golf, but games like pinball, pachinko and skeeball as well.
Human Computer says that Ballgame is designed to be a challenge, with tournaments, arcade-style minigames and in-game currency for customization. Dolf can apparently be outfit with up to 99 different personalities. The developer also encourages users to play the upcoming demo and share feedback via the Steam community hub.
Eliot Garcia Weisberg, Human Computer co-founder, said in a statement, “When we started Human Computer, we were committed to making deeply satisfying games while applying our strengths in art direction, audio design, and narrative. With Ballgame, we let our creativity run wild, blending our love of arcade chaos with skill-based mechanics to create something that’s simple to pick up, tough to master, and bonkers in the best way. It’s just the beginning of a much larger creative vision for the studio, and we’re excited to see where this first shot leads us next.”
