Digital Bandidos and The MIX teamed up for the inaugural Indie Fan Fest, an online showcase spotlighting nearly 50 indie games just ahead of Steam Next Fest.
Designed to drive wishlists and visibility during one of the most important indie marketing windows of the year, the event mixed new announcements, release dates, surprise demos, and exclusive gameplay reveals. This edition of Indie Fan Fest has been supported by silver sponsor Raw Fury, as well as additional sponsors like HeroCraft PC, Meta Publishing, Soft Source, and X.D. Network.
Highlights included two brand-new announcements, among dozens of other game highlights. The notable new reveals were Gloom Punks, a dark fairytale multiplayer roguelike where death fuels progression, and Froggy Hates Snow, a survival roguelike built around battling the cold as much as its monsters.
Indie Fan Fest also marked the first gameplay reveal for Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown, while HumaNature Studios used the event to launch a Kickstarter for the wholesome narrative adventure Dancing with Ghosts. Muse Games began playtests for its team-based PvP dogfighting game Stars of Icarus. In all, the show mixed long-awaited updates with first-time looks at experimental projects, giving smaller studios a high-visibility moment in the lead-up to Steam Next Fest.
