It’s buildin’ time — and then, later, it’ll be clobberin’ time.

Marvel, Warner Bros., and Lego have teamed up for a new Lego game set in the Marvel superhero universe. Lego Marvel Super Heroes will hit Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC, DS, 3DS, and PlayStation Vita in fall 2013. Developer TT Games, which has handled other Lego tie-in games, will produce the title.

“We’re very excited to bring a myriad of classic Marvel characters to life in Lego form for some fun, family-friendly gameplay in Lego Marvel Super Heroes,” said TT Games Publishing’s managing director, Tom Stone. “Players will brave the ultimate mission to save the world as they explore famous landmarks in Lego New York and take the adventure beyond Earth to iconic locations in the Marvel universe.”

The Lego games dipped into comics with Batman after the developer had a breakout hit with its Lego Star Wars series.

“Fans of both Lego and Marvel have wanted this game for years, and we’re addressing that demand with more Marvel-universe characters than ever in a console game,” said Marvel Entertainment vice president of game production TQ Jefferson. “If you’re a fan of Spider-Man, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, or scores of other Marvel characters, this is the game for you.”

The Marvel superhero properties have continued to grow in popularity following a successful few years at the box office. Marvel’s The Avengers raked in over $600 million domestically, making it the third highest-grossing film of all time.
