Xbox Live is up to download, and you can start playing some new Halo tomorrow.

Microsoft and developer 343 Industries have made the Halo 5: Guardians beta live on Xbox One to download. The test will run starting tomorrow through Jan. 18. When the servers go live, you can see what’s different and what’s the same in the next Halo game, which is due out for Xbox One next fall. To get into the beta, you’ll need to own Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which debuted earlier this year. You’ll also need to go through a small process to find where to download the game. Let us help you to figure that out.

How to download the beta:

  1. If you’re in the Master Chief Collection, and the beta isn’t working for you, you’ll need to follow these steps.
  2. To start downloading the beta for Halo 5: Guardians, go to the Halo channel.
  3. Select the Halo Nightfall Rewards section.
  4. Make sure you watch the Nightfall episode.
  5. In the Rewards section, click on “play Halo” next to Halo 5 unlocks.
  6. If you can’t find the Rewards section, just press X during any episode of Nightfall.
  7. This will send you to the Halo 5 download page.

Once the game is downloaded, you should be able to boot it up, but the server won’t go live until tomorrow.
