Hideo Kojima had a featured role at Sony’s Electronic Entertainment Expo lead-in event today in Los Angeles, and he showed what ideas have been in his head since his departure from Kojima Productions and Konami.

He showed a demo for a new game, called Death Stranding, from his new Kojima Studios development house. It shows a naked man (who looked a lot like Norman Reedus, who was supposed to star in the canceled Silent Hills for Kojima at Konami) clutching a baby. He then stares into a bleak, watery landscape.

The title was revealed as Death Stranding. Mark Cerny (who has worked on series like Sonic the Hedgehog and Ratchet & Clank) is the technical director, and Yoji Shinkawa (who worked with Kojima on the Metal Gear Solid series) is the art director.

Kojima is best known for the Metal Gear series, which he worked on at Konami until he left the publisher last year as development finished on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Kojima then started his own company, Kojima Studios.

Kojima Studios and Sony announced late last year that the developer’s first game would be a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
