Halo 4 sold a record-breaking $220M in its first 24 hours

Microsoft said that the Halo 4 video game made “entertainment history” by selling more than $220 million worth in its first 24 hours.

The new chapter in the Halo series also eclipsed the biggest movie launch in history, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, in terms of U.S. opening day sales. (Of course, Microsoft doesn’t have the data to show whether its Xbox 360 blockbuster beat Harry Potter on a global basis).
