Gunzilla Games said it is integrating the GUNZ blockchain into the OpenSea non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace.

Frankfurt, Germany-based Gunzilla is partnering OpenSea in an effort to evolve gaming economies, enabling players to trade in-game items seamlessly across various titles built on the GUNZ blockchain.

GUNZ, developed on a custom Avalanсhe subnet, empowers triple-A game developers by providing players with full ownership of in-game assets as tradeable NFTs, fostering player-driven economies within digital worlds.

With the integration of GUNZ into OpenSea, players and users of the marketplace will gain access to a compliant and transparent platform for trading in-game NFT items. This move bridges the gap between traditional Web2 gaming and the emerging Web3 gaming ecosystem, offering players a unified marketplace to trade assets from any game built atop the GUNZ platform. The exclusive method of payment within this ecosystem will be the “GUN” token.

The first project set to launch on GUNZ is Gunzilla Games’ cyberpunk-style battle royale game, Off The Grid. Scheduled for release on PC, Playstation 5, and Xbox X|S later this year, Off The Grid will showcase the potential of this partnership.

Vlad Korolov, CEO of Gunzilla Games, said in a statement, “Our vision has always been to empower players with true ownership of their in-game assets, transforming how value is created and exchanged in digital worlds. With OpenSea’s support, we’re one step closer to realizing a unified, player-driven economy across all games developed on the GUNZ blockchain.”

The announcement comes on the heels of Gunzilla Games’ recent $30 million funding, including a $10 million strategic token round co-led by CoinFund and the Avalanche Foundation’s Blizzard Fund.

Devin Finzer, CEO of OpenSea, said in a statement, “GUNZ integration into OpenSea acts as a significant moment in that effort, bringing the highly anticipated ‘Off the Grid’ into our marketplace and adding an element of ownership console and PC players have yet to experience.”
