The Game Developers Conference dropped another clue that it is shaking things up when it comes to its 2026 event on March 9 to March 13, 2026.
The video embedded here shows the traditional GDC conference logo getting squished by a giant robot foot, Godzilla style. It’s another sign that the organizers at Informa are shaking up the program.
Last week, GDC put out word that it will hold GDC: Festival of Gaming, across the entire city of San Francisco, and it will work with partners to incorporate side events into GDC more easily. GDC said it would have a single ticket to access everything with dramatically lower prices so more people can attend the event in a festival atmosphere.
We’re expecting to get a download soon on what is actually going to happen, but it looks like GDC is serious about taking into account criticisms people have had about its approach and changing things so the conference can start to grow again.
