Gayming Awards 2025 reveals hosts, award recipients

The Gayming Awards have announced new details about its fifth show this year. The event airs on July 8 on World of Wonder’s WOW Presents Plus. Ahead of the event, Gayming Magazine has revealed new details about this year’s hosts, as well as the event’s special guests and the recipients of its Gayming Icon award and LGBTQ+ Streamer Rising Star Class.

The hosts of this year’s event are DEERE and Milady Confetti, who hosted last year, and they’re joined by Morgan McMichaels, formerly of RuPaul’s Drag Race. McMichaels will introduce “a fun reading segment which will help everyone develop new and shady ways to read fellow gamers in chat.” Gayming Magazine also revealed this year’s theme tune: “Stay Close to Me (Ozkar Wylde Remix)” by British artist and producer Bentley Jones, well known in the industry for their Sonic music.

2025’s Gayming Icon is Rebecca Heineman, the first national video game champion and winner of the 1980 Atari 2600 Space Invaders tournament. Heineman has worked in the industry as both a renowned designers and an advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusion and diversity. She’s joined in her recognition by the 2025 LGBTQ+ Streamer Rising Star Class, which includes streamers BoyeFran, Bvssykatdoll, Mynxie666 & WillJinkies.
