I started Gaming Insiders because I wanted to talk to other game developers so we could share information and help solve each other’s problems. Over the years, the community has grown to thousands of members from all corners of the industry, discussing hundreds of topics from game design to analytics and VR.

The first Gaming Insiders event took place in the basement of a San Francisco Chinese restaurant and was attended by about 12 people. We hosted our first conference in 2012, and since then the event has doubled in size each year.

This year, we’re expecting more than 500 of the industry’s best and brightest. Here are a few sessions I’m looking forward to when our event September 24 and September 25 at the Intercontinental Hotel in San Francisco.

Telltale CEOs Kevin Bruner and Dan Connors will discuss their team’s monumental year with franchises like Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands. Kabam co-founder Holly Liu will take the stage to detail how the company went from scrappy startup to helping craft the new Star Wars canon. Harmonix CCO Alex Rigopulos will discuss the company’s vision for future platforms. Warner Bros. Interactive SVP David Haddad will discuss his company’s banner year with established franchises in the Batman Arkham series and more.

Alongside the executive speakers, we will also welcome some of the industry’s creative leading lights, including a fireside chat between Steve Gaynor (Gone Home) and Sean Vanaman (Firewatch) as well as talks from Adam Orth (ADR1FT) and Erin Robinson Swink (Gravity Ghost).

For the third year running, the conference is presented by Google Play, who will be in residence at the event to give game developers feedback on their upcoming titles.
