Frontier Developments, a developer and publisher of video games based in Cambridge, United Kingdom, reported 16% revenue growth in its latest fiscal year. It also has a new Disney game coming and it is proceeding with a planned leadership transition.
For the 12 months ended May 31, Frontier reported revenue was £104.8 million ($142.1 million), up 16% from £90.6 million a year earlier. Earnings per share came in at 74.6 pence , up 76% from 42.4 pence a year earlier. Adjusted operating profit was £21.4 million, up 62% from £13.2 million a year earlier. Operating profit was up 97% to £25.0 million.
The company attributed the revenue growth to the success of Jurassic World Evolution 3, and the ongoing strength of the Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo franchises. Adjusted operating profit grew thanks to strong trading, disciplined cost control and higher tax and expenditure credits.
Operating profit reflected strong underlying trading performance alongside a one-off transitional tax credit of £4.4 million. Cash increased to £44.0 million at May 31, 2026, compared with £42.5 million in May 2025, despite investing £17.5 million in Frontier shares during the year. Excluding this investment, cash increased by a record £19.0 million (FY25: £13.0 million).
A strong roadmap
FY27 (fiscal year ended May 2027): Planet Zoo 2 is scheduled for release on 13 October 2026 and Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch is scheduled for release before the end of FY27.
FY28: a new own-IP CMS game establishing a further Planet franchise is in full development and is on track.
FY29 and beyond: creating and nurturing high-quality and sustainable evergreen game franchises, with an average release cadence of one new CMS game per year.
As announced last week, the company said it further strengthened its long-term development roadmap through an agreement with Disney to develop and publish a new game which will draw on Disney’s iconic portfolio of IP.
Having achieved record financial performance in FY26, the Board is confident in delivering FY27 in line with expectations through nurturing and expanding our genre-leading CMS franchises.
