Nick Tuosto, former head of gaming at LionTree, announced the launch of GoodGame Advisors, a boutique deal advisory firm that can advise on acquisitions.
Tuosto will also continue to be managing director of Griffin Gaming Partners, one of the world’s leading venture capital firms focused exclusively on gaming, with over $1.2 billion in assets under management and 80 portfolio companies.
Prior to LionTree, Nick served as the global co-head of internet and digital media investment banking at
Bank of America Merrill Lynch. The creation of the new firm is a sign that deals are coming back again to the game industry, which has seen a big slowdown with lots of layoffs in recent months.
GoodGame Advisors is a strategic partner to Griffin. The partnership will utilize GoodGame Advisors’
financial and strategic advisory expertise and Griffin’s data-driven venture insights to provide nuanced
advice to select clients of GoodGame Advisors and investors and portfolio companies of Griffin. This position gives Tuosto a unique view of both investments into game studios and M&A exits in games.
Tuosto and his team have advised on more than 30 transactions in the interactive entertainment industry
specifically, accounting for more than $30 billion in transaction value, with clients ranging from emerging
companies to well-established industry leaders.
“We are passionate about what we do and aim to provide trusted and value-creating advice to our clients. Our intense focus on the Interactive Entertainment ecosystem allows us to deliver differentiated and creative outcomes,” said Tuosto in a statement. “We have been successful executing against this thesis in the past and look forward to serving our clients at GoodGame Advisors.”
Industry veterans are lending their support to GoodGame Advisors.
Strauss Zelnick, chairman and CEO of Take-Two Interactive and managing partner at ZMC, said in a statement, “Nick has always prioritized our long-term success. From our work with him and his team on deals for over a decade, I know firsthand the value of their extraordinary domain expertise and their practical, commercial and actionable advice.”
Other members of GoodGame Advisors are Frankie Zhu, managing director, and Seth Nutt, vice president. They also previously worked at LionTree.
