I hate it when a Deadric Prince has evil plans for my soul. Thankfully, I’ll get a chance to put a stop to that nonsense in the upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game from Bethesda.
The Elder Scrolls Online, from developer Bethesda, is due out later this year. In anticipation of that release, Bethesda is dripping out details of the MMO’s mechanics and story. Earlier today, the studio released a video that reveals information about the title’s plot.

Basically, Molag Bal, the God of Schemes, has some crazy plan to enslave the souls of all mortals. This forces the player to track down the Daedric Prince in Coldharbour, one of the evil parallel planes of Oblivion.
Once there, players will discover that Molag Bal has special plans for their soul in particular.
The Elder Scrolls Online is Bethesda’s first time taking the popular franchise online. Most recently, the company had a major hit with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Online takes place 1,000 years before the events of that game. Spoiler warning: Molag Bal is still around in Skyrim, so I’d be careful with your soul in The Elder Scrolls Online.
