It’s a good day for nostalgic 3DS owners.

The Super Nintendo classics EarthBound, Donkey Kong Country, and Super Mario Kart are all available for download on the 3DS today via the portable’s Virtual Console store. Each game costs $8. Unlike Virtual Console titles for other retro systems, you’ll need a New 3DS to play the SNES games (sorry, older 3DS users).

Each of these is landmark in gaming history. EarthBound was one of first role-playing games to subvert its genre tropes, taking place in a suburban environment instead of the typical fantasy setting. Donkey Kong Country was one of the first console games to use 3D character models. Super Mario Kart invented the kart-racing genre, a new kind of racing game that blended driving skill with the strategic use of weapons and items.

The first wave of SNES games for the New 3DS came out earlier this month and included Super Mario World, Pilot Wings, and F-Zero. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, and Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong’s Quest will come out on April 14.
