Japanese role-playing game fans, rejoice.

Nintendo revealed in the stream of its Nintendo Direct that the classic role-playing games Dragon Quest VII and Dragon Quest VIII are coming to 3DS in the U.S. in 2016. Both are already out in Japan, and RPG fans were unsure if Nintendo and developer Square Enix, which have a spotty record of bringing the series to the U.S., would localize them.

While the original Dragon Quest VIII release in the U.S. for the PlayStation 2 didn’t have a subtitle, the 3DS version is called Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past.

Dragon Quest VII originally came out for the first PlayStation (it was still called Dragon Warrior her back then). It’s successor, Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, originally came out for the PlayStation 2.
