Sega’s Crazy Taxi revival game made a surprise appearance the Xbox Summer Games Showcase, part of the summer gaming showcase bonanza. The new game is called Crazy Taxi: World Tour. The trailer shows some of the wild driving shenanigans in the game, which launches sometime in 2027.

As the name implies, Crazy Taxi takes the craziness global, with a mysterious character leading hero Axel on his adventure. World Tour has a story campaign set across five cities, along with a classic mode, online multiplayer and customization options.

World Tour also includes the original Crazy Taxi in Arcade Mode, with Sega noting, “Revisit the thrills of the original games in Arcade Mode, featuring a pulse-pounding race against the clock to earn the most cash possible.”

Sega teased that a Crazy Taxi title was in the works some time ago, when it dropped a list of seemingly dead franchises that it intended to revive. This marks the first public appearance of the game. Other revivals in the works include Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe and Streets of Rage.
