One of the first games Sony showed off at its May State of Play showcase was Concord, the new multiplayer FPS title from Firewalk Studios. The upcoming sci-fi PvP hero shooter is having a pre-launch beta in July, with a full release planned for August 23, 2024. The cinematic trailer showed off some of the game’s comedy chops (which appear to be inspired by Guardians of the Galaxy), while the gameplay trailer showed the various in-game abilities of the characters.

The cinematic trailer showed three of the playable characters — Lennox, Star Child and Haymar — attempting to complete a job on a planet in the Concord Galaxy. They’re Free Gunners, so named because they’re freelancers who can choose their own jobs. Each one has their own abilities, some of which we saw in the gameplay trailer.

According to Firewalk, the gameplay was inspired by everything from fighting games to strategy titles. They announced they’ll hold their beta in July, and pre-orders open on June 6. The game launches on PlayStation 5.
