Blizzard cancels Heroes of the Storm esports, slows development

Blizzard Entertainment announced that it is scaling back its support for Heroes of the Storm. It is canceling the Heroes of the Storm and Heroes of the Dorm esports events in 2019, and it is also shifting some developers off the ongoing game, according to a blog post.

Heroes of the Storm hasn’t gathered the same following in the multiplayer online battle arena market as League of Legends or Dota 2 (which is an adaptation of Defense of the Ancients, the Warcraft III mod that created MOBAs in the first place).
