Nonprofit organization XPerience Studios today aired its Black Voices in Gaming Showcase, a two-hour event celebrating games created by Black developers. The event featured three exclusive game announcements from Virtuoso Neomedia, as well as several trailers and updates on new titles.
Virtuoso revealed its newest games: Santa Corps 4, Santa Corps and Virtuoso Skins Game. The former two are available to play now, while the latter is available to wishlist on Steam. Other upcoming games that made appearances at the showcase include Erased, A Baby CEO?!, Oh!Ware and Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game. Steam also featured the titles in a special event.
The showcase featured interviews with several of the games’ developers, including Jerron Jacques of cyberpunk thriller Erased, about trying to recover one’s memories in a hostile world; and Shawn Alexander Allen for roguelite Beatdown City Survivors, where players battle hordes of monsters in a city that can fall apart around them. The interviews covered their journeys and incorporating heritage and identity into their games.
Other games featured during the showcase include already released games such as Aerial Knight’s Dropshot, Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator and Relooted (a fascinating game about reclaiming purloined artifacts).
