Bandai Namco today revealed new sales figures on the Elden Ring series, specifically on the Nightreign spin-off and the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. According to the publisher, Shadow of the Erdtree has sold 10 million copies, and recently launched action game Nightreign has sold 5 million copies. It also noted that the original Elden Ring has sold 30 million copies.

The publisher notes that Nightreign achieved its sales milestone within two months of its launch. In a recent report from industry-tracking firm Circana, the game was the best-selling title from June, keeping the top spot despite competition from Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Mario Kart World, which came bundled with many Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.

Bandai Namco noted that the franchise will continue to have releases for the foreseeable future, as the Tarnished Edition is coming out for Switch 2, and a movie with Alex Garland as director is in the works with A24. It almost beggars belief that there was once a time Elden Ring seemed as though it would never come out.

The company itself was also in the news earlier today as Sony revealed it’d acquired a 2.5% stake in Bandai Namco as part of a “strategic partnership” between the two. They said in a statement, “Bandai Namco and Sony will focus on expanding the fan community for IP such as anime and manga around the world and strengthening engagement, particularly in the anime field where rapid market growth is anticipated.” Sony also owns a stake in Kadokawa, the parent company of Elden Ring developer FromSoftware.
