Bandai Namco Entertainment announced at The Game Awards tonight that Soulcalibur VI is coming in 2018 on Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

It will be the first Soulcalibur game to come out since Soulcalibur V in 2012, though a card-based mobile game Soulcalibur: Unbreakable Soul did come out in 2014. The franchise has been around for over two decades, with the popular first entry Soul Edge debuting in 1995.

The weapons-based fighting game is more accessible than Capcom’s Street Fighter series, with controls that are easier to pick up. In recent years, it’s added character cameos from other popular series, perhaps hoping to speak to a broader audience. Players have been able to select characters like Link from Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda in Soulcalibur II and Ezio from Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed in Soulcalibur V.
