Augment raises $3M to bring augmented reality to sales pitches

Augment is about to get, uh, augmented with $4.7 million in funding. The enterprise augmented-reality company uses iPads and smartphones to help people visualize how a new retail kiosk might look in a real store.

Augmented reality could hold even more promise than the much-hyped virtual reality, which has focused on gaming and entertainment so far. But augmented reality could become a $90 billion business by 2020, compared to $30 billion for virtual reality in the same time, according to tech advisor Digi-Capital.
