The unlikely Japanese role-playing crossover is really happening.

The Fire Emblem game from Atlus that was briefly teased in a Nintendo Direct broadcast in early 2013 finally comes to light. New footage shown today during a Nintendo Direct broadcast shows that Nintendo’s long-running role-playing franchise gets the Atlus treatment, making it look something like an entry in the company’s modern-day Persona series.

This crossover is part of Atlus’ Shin Megami Tensei universe, and it will feature characters from the Fire Emblem series. It appears to be set in Tokyo. Nintendo confirmed that the game is still in development, though it didn’t have any new details beyond that for North America. In Japan, the Wii U title is slated to launch this Winter.
