LOS ANGELES — Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate takes you to a place an Assassin has never traveled before … a London pub.

Coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Oct. 23, it’s the latest entry in developer Ubisoft’s annual globe-trotting series, and we learned more about it today during the publisher’s press briefing at the Electronic Entertainment Expo gaming tradeshow. Ubisoft showed a new trailer where hero Jacob Frye and his gang, the Rooks, are hunting down one of the Templars. The fight involved racing carriages, an explosion on a bridge, and a duel in a steel mill. Later, Jacob is part of a brutal brawl at a pub.

This is the seventh year in a row that Ubisoft is releasing a mainline Assassin’s Creed game for consoles and PC (since Assassin’s Creed II in 2009). A big reason why the French publisher does this is because of how much money the franchise brings in. Last year’s AC games (Rogue and Unity) contributed to the company’s $125.8 million profit for fiscal year 2015.

The open-world action game takes place in Victorian London in 1868, where brother-and-sister duo Jacob and Evie Frye are leading the British Assassins. You can control both heroes during the course of the game as they try to unite the city’s seedy gangs to fight against the Templar Order, the Assassins’ mortal enemy.

During a livestream in February, Assassin’s Creed writer Darby McDevitt said they have enough written material for future AC games to cover over “the next 10, 20 years, or however long we’re around.”
