Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Nothing is true; everything is permitted … that includes pirating on the high seas.

Ubisoft is lifting the veil on Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, the sixth main entry in the open-world action series. The publisher plans to release the next Assassin’s Creed on Nov. 1 for PlayStation 4 (if Sony’s new console is out by then, of course), Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC. If Microsoft introduces a new Xbox between then and now, it’s likely that Assassin’s Creed IV will hit that console as well.

Ubisoft set Blackflag on the Caribbean in the year 1715. It stars a new character named Edward Kenway, father of Assassin’s Creed III’s Haytham Kenway and grandfather of Connor Kenway.

Edward is a rebel “Pirate Assassin” who must earn the respect of infamous historical figures like Blackbeard while simultaneously continuing the war between the Assassins and Templars.

Here’s a CG story trailer of Blackbeard telling stories of the badass surfer-dude-looking Edward Kenway:
