Toei has long been a creator of stories through its animated films, TV shows and other media. And today the Japanese company announced a new game brand, Toei Games.
Toei Games plans to debut a PC game on April 24, first on Steam and later on the consoles. The new titles will not be based on existing intellectual properties.
Toei President and CEO Fumio Yoshimura announced the establishment of its game business brand, Toei Games, as part of its plan to enter the gaming business.
Since its founding in 1951, the companies said it has delivered countless “stories” to the world through a variety of media, including movies, television, and animation. And now, in 2026, on the occasion of its 75th anniversary, Toei has launched a new game business brand, “Toei Games,” as a new challenge.
The goal is to create new IPs that will excite the world, starting with games. The initial lineup of titles, which will be announced at a later date, will not be games using Toei’s existing IPs, but rather completely new game titles by talented creators from Japan and abroad.
“We intend to clearly position this business as a ‘new pillar’ alongside the fields of film, television, and events that have been Toei’s mainstays until now, and we will focus our efforts on it,” Yoshimura said.
