Activision have posted a new blog in honor of Spyro’s birthday and Spyro Community Day, which will include new details for Spyro: A Realm Beyond.
Earlier this summer, Activision announced Spyro: A Realm Beyond, a new adventure from Toys for Bob that sees Spyro embark on a new journey. The trailer revealed the new realm and fresh chapter in Spyro’s story, as well as a first glimpse of new mechanics.
According to a press release, “the goal for Toys for Bob has always been to create a game that fans dreamed of when they first fell in love with the franchise, one that stays true to what makes Spyro so special, while also embracing exciting new possibilities.”
As well as the addition of “true dragon flight” as part of this new adventure, previous Spyro skills such as charging, jumping, gliding, and collecting treasure will remain vital parts of the experience. Spyro: A Realm Beyond newly introduces flight as an evolution of those foundations, allowing players to expand exploration whether charging across the ground in search of hidden gems or soaring overhead to discover new paths and adventures.
The press release states, “it’s all designed to deepen the sense of freedom, discovery, and movement that has always been at the core of Spyro.”
To celebrate Spyro Community Day 2026, Activision partnered with creators and community members for a special “burn-away cake” activation, inspired by Spyro’s fiery personality as well as a closer look at Arcadian Vale, one of the early regions players will explore in Spyro: A Realm Beyond.
“Arcadian Vale captures the charm and wonder that defines Spyro’s new adventure. Made up of a calm, serene atmosphere, Arcadian Vale is a vibrant landscape filled with natural beauty,” said the press release. “Across the scene are cascading waterfalls tumbling down from towering cliffs. Ancient stone structures and weathered monuments rise from the terrain while lush greenery blankets the valley floor, creating a destination that feels magical and alive.”
