Chinese game studio Supersense is announcing today that it is making Warhammer: Storm of Magic, a free-to-play mobile game based on the fantasy worlds created by Games Workshop.
Shanghai-based Supersense has a license to build games for iOS, Android, and the Amazon Kindle Fire. It is creating a 3D collectible card game set in the magic fantasy world of Warhammer. Players, heroes, and units engage in tactical battles online with other humans or artificial-intelligence controlled players.
Collectible card games are hot thanks to the success of Blizzard’s Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, which has been downloaded more than 25 million times. The title will be released this year, but Supersense is soliciting feedback on what the community wants.
“We highly value your ideas, so join the forum and be part of this magical journey with us,” the company said.
The game features a tutorial where you play against the Master Wizard. You will build your deck from hundreds of cards to win or craft. You will be able to fight for yourself or your alliance. You will be able to share wins, losses, and rewards. There will be a variety of game modes, and a collection manager to manage your cards. You will be able to duel with your friends and go on new quests every day.
Supersense was founded last year, and it is based in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Its team has experience making games for other studios, including the Tomb Raider series, Need for Speed, FIFA, Call of Duty Online, and Plants Vs. Zombies.
