Denial eSports emerged as the victor at the Call of Duty Championships. That means they’re taking home the $400,000 grand prize.
Denial eSports member James “Clayster” Eubanks took home the MVP award. Denial eSports beat team Revenge for the finals. The final tournament in Los Angeles this weekend was the culmination of months of Call of Duty multiplayer combat among 32 finalist teams. The tournament had a total of $1 million in prizes, and it was geared to die-hard fans of Call of Duty, which has sold 191 million games to date.
“You’re the 2015 COD world champions,” said Michael Condrey, cofounder of Sledgehammer Studios, the developer of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
The event drew a crowd of thousands to the Event Deck at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles, and it was livestreamed over the web.
