Hearthstone’s Blackrock Mountain expansion gets April 2 release date

Starting in April, you’ll get the chance to conquer the Blackrock.

Blizzard has revealed that it will roll out the Blackrock Mountain expansion for its Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft digital card-battler on April 2 in the “Americas,” which also includes Southeast Asia and Oceania. On April 3, the add-on will go live in Europe, Korea, Taiwan, and China. Like with the first expansion, Curse of Naxxramas, the publisher plans to release Blackrock Mountain in “wings.” This will break up the content over several weeks. Hearthstone is a significant revenue generator for Blizzard. The game is the No. 9 top-grossing app on iOS in South Korea, No. 12 in Canada, and No. 47 in United States (via App Annie) — all of which are regions that contribute enormously to the $25 billion mobile-gaming market.
