Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is mixing up the long-running franchise’s multiplayer formula this November, and publisher Activision wants to show you exactly why it thinks that is so great.
The company released a new video today that takes a detailed look at the player abilities, maps, and modes of developer Sledgehammer’s upcoming military shooter. Most notably, the developer explains how Advanced Warfare’s new exo suit works. The cyborg-like attachment grants characters superhuman abilities like double jumping and midair, rocket-powered strafing moves.
Since 2007’s Modern Warfare, Call of Duty has outsold all other shooters. Its multiplayer is the primary reason for that. Advanced Warfare, due out Nov. 4 for new gen, last gen, and PC, represents the biggest departure from the run-and-gun online action that turned the series into the megahit that it is, and the fate of the multibillion-dollar franchise depends on whether gamers respond well to these new features.
In addition to the new exo suit, Activision’s video also shows how players can customize their character with decals, tattoos, and other cosmetic items.
