Consumers are buying PlayStation 4s at such a high rate that Sony is still having trouble keeping up.
Now, multimedia conglomerate is confirming that the demand for its latest home game console will continue to overwhelm the supply well into the summer. Sony Computer Entertainment boss Andrew House told the Wall Street Journal that the system is selling well in all of the nearly 50 regions it is currently available in. The PS4 went on sale in November in the U.S., and retailers have rarely had the system on their shelves for more than day at a time since. Sony sold more than 6 million PS4s around the world in its first four months. Microsoft hasn’t provided any updated sales numbers for the Xbox One, which is trailing Sony’s unit.
