Want to get your startup company or idea in front of the technology and investor bigwigs attending the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco next week?
Well, we’ve got an opportunity for an early-stage startup company to do that, at the conference’s Web After Dark party on the first evening, Oct 20. The party is hosted by venture capital firm Canaan Partners. Canaan will be showcasing its hottest Web 2.0 portfolio companies in pods in a virtual metropolis theme.
You can nominate your company (or someone else’s) to be showcased with those companies.
Canaan Partners and VentureBeat will select the most promising nominees submitted by VB readers. The winning company will receive a pass to the exclusive press pre-party and will get a chance to pitch Canaan Partners in person. Runners up will be added to Canaan’s VIP guest list for the invite-only after-party, where they can meet Canaan’s team in person and rub elbows with some of Silicon Valley’s top influencers. It’s all happening at the St. Regis, a short walk from the Westin Market Street, where the summit is taking place. The party will be broadcast live to the Canaan web site (for those who don’t get tickets) via LiveU technology.
Eligibility: This competition is open to any technology startup that has not received any prior venture capital funding. To submit a company, please send us an email with the following information:
- Company name
- URL (or, if it’s too early for a URL, some other documentation about your company)
- Tell us in 50 words or less why this company should be showcased at Web After Dark.
VentureBeat and Canaan will choose a winner to be announced on VentureBeat this Friday at 3 pm.
Note: If you are not a representative of this company but feel they should be nominated, please include the name, phone number and email address of a contact there and we will follow up directly.
See diagram below for the layout of Web After Dark party. The Canaan companies being showcased are Associated Content, Blurb, Lending Club, Watercooler, Zoosk, Tremor Media, Primesense and LiveU.
