Online Instruction manual (Japanese only)
Kratos often tweets about revenge and killing, but he’s really a big softy at heart. According to his instruction manual, he’ll play rock-paper-scissors with you and tell you your horoscope. If you @ message him with a fighting-related word, he’ll tweet back gruff words of encouragement.
He’s programmed to respond to a variety of words: presents, his likes/dislikes, “www” (the Japanese “lol”), women’s underwear, cell phones, and computers.

Unlike Bayonetta’s crazy get-up, her Twitter bot account is pretty simple. It’s a stream of quotes in English and Japanese.
Bot_bayonetta shows how much style and sass the Bayonetta localization team infused into the game’s dialogue. Some of the Japanese lines’ literal meanings were really bland or odd before the translators worked their magic.
Literal translation (from Bayonetta's Tweets) | Sassy localization |
"How awful… these toys." | “Now this is cheeky, throwing me these cheap toys!” |
"Die, bird-face!" | "Flock off, feather face!” |
"You sure know a lot, Cheshire." | "You've certainly bloomed, haven't you, my little Cheshire puss?" |
"Just watch her carefully." | "Just keep a good eye on her, or you're gonna catch hell for it." |

I was excited to stumble across an English-speaking Bayonetta account, but as I scrolled down her tweet list, I discovered she's bilingual — she tweets mostly in Spanish and sometimes English.
This Bayonetta is not a bot, but someone who offers commentary on pop culture through the time witch’s eyes. Apparently, she hates Twilight and thinks she’s prettier than the last Miss America.
Hey, hey that's not what I said!

Explanation: “[Informal, automatic bot.] Ahah, you intend to step foot into (my) domain? Hahah! How interesting, you came to talk to me? You’ve really got some guts. Make yourself comfortable. Check out the URL above. I’ll be waiting.”
Maybe I’d be more interested in Dantefirstbot if I had played more Devil May Cry, but this pretty boy’s account is bland and repetitive. He responds to the usual greetings and other words such as “like,” “cool,” “tired,” “sleepy,” and “laugh,” according to his online instruction manual.
The manual also says he really enjoys talking about different enemies and characters but “doesn’t remember that far back.” (As in, he only tweets about more recent DMC games.) None of his followers seem to tweet with him using this feature, though.
Past Editions of Game Characters Who Tweet:
First-Person Shooters (Bioshock, Metal Gear, Call of Duty)
Platfomers (Kirby, Sonic, Donkey Kong)
